The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Mathieu Roy to a one-year, two-way contract.

Roy registered 10 assists in 31 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets this season before being placed on waivers. The Florida Panthers claimed him but he didn't end up playing for them. Roy is a depth defenseman who will probably spend most of the season in the minors.
